  2. Hi! I understand this is somewhat off-topic however I had to ask.

Does running a well-established website like yours require a lot of work?
I’m brand new to operating a blog however I do write in my journal
on a daily basis. I’d like to start a blog so I will
be able to share my experience and thoughts online. Please let me know if you
have any kind of recommendations or tips for brand new aspiring blog owners.
    Appreciate it!

I want to thank you for taking the time to view my website and reading my blog.

When I decided to create my website, the purpose was to showcase my portfolio to prospective employers as I experienced a job loss last May. This week I received a formal job offer in my new chosen field. I was reluctant to start a blog but needed to show prospective employers my writing capabilities since I was transitioning into a new career in marketing/communications.

Maintaining a blog is labor intensive. If you want to increase your readership then posting frequency is important. Some bloggers post multiple times per day but keep it short. Other bloggers may only post once per week or once every two weeks. What’s important is that you find a routine that you can stick to.

Since readers do not have a lot of time, blog posts usually run between 300-500 words per article. Some of my articles have exceeded this limit. My readership has commented that they like some of the longer articles because the subject material goes into more depth. Again, you should not be afraid of a longer post and would need to experiment.

I hope that I have answered your question.

      Thank you.

  6. Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had
    to tell someone!

    • Renee DeVaughn

Thank you for sharing your story with me. Your story brought back many fond memories when I took my children to the beach. Your daughter is young and may change her mind about wanting to go back.

Cherish the memories! In the blink of an eye they grow so fast.
